Dr. Paul Bonar graduated with honors from OHSU and began his own private solo practice in 1987. Dr. Vickie Bonar comes from a family of dentists and began her medical journey as an RN, but eventually found her way to her way back to dentistry.
After meeting in dental school, marrying and running a practice in Salem on High Street until 1997, the Bonars built the current office on Liberty Street, which they still call home.
Most recently, they merged with Dr. William Payne’s Dental Practice in 2015 and Dr. Steven Cowgill’s Dental Practice in 2018 forming Bonar Family Dentistry.
In 2019, with a desire to refresh their practice, Bonar Family Dentistry rebranded to become Pacific Crest Dental Group. It was their thorough enjoyment of all things outdoorsy and adventurous that lit a fire for their new name and brand which now better reflects their shared life values of living a healthy life and savoring our beautiful state.
It isn't only the doctors who hold a passion for adventuring in the outdoors or spending quality time with family and pets though. Each team member also shares those values, which makes the Pacific Crest Dental team what it is - a family-focused dental group who is proud to care for each and every one of their Salem, Oregon and surrounding area neighbors.

Dr. Paul and Vickie Bonar believe in living a life of service and enjoy plugging into their community. They are active members of Mid-Valley Community Church in Woodburn, hosted exchange students from 1989-2017, and are involved in a number of community service projects, as well as having a hand in the Salem Sunrise Rotary Club.
Some of their closest memories are the mission trips they’ve taken to Mexico and areas of Central and South America to provide dental and medical care for underserved populations. Although challenging, these trips drive home the importance of service and loving people and will always be close to their hearts.
